Suicide attempt foiled
On June 2, 2021, a suicide attempt took place on board the 'Adeona' which was sailing from Ischia to Naples. The ferry left the island at 8.20 p.m. Shortly after departure, the family members of a man went to the offices of the island's Captaincy to inform them that a relative of theirs had communicated his willingness to jump into the sea. Contact with the ferry by radio was started immediately, and searches on board the ship began. The man was immediately identified. The island's Port Authority and the naval unit's personnel convinced him not to jump. When the ship arrived in the port of Naples, the man was taken care of by an ambulance.
