Grounding in Puerto Williams
The AP "Aquiles" ran aground on Feb 12, 2019, at 2 p.m. while leaving the Guardián Brito-Dock in Puerto Williams. Strong winds caught the vessel and pushed it towards the shore. First it hit a buoy before drifting into shallow waters. A tug and the ferry "Yaghan" mananged to pull the vessel to a safe anchorage where divers of the Chilean Navy surveyed the hull. The ship remained stationary in Puerto Williams on Feb 13 in regard of the ongoing stormy weather.
