Tug boarded by perpetrators
While at Martabari anchorage in Bangladesh in pos. 21° 41.72’ N, 91° 50.34’ E, the duty able seaman of the t'ASL Amber' sighted two suspicious fishing vessels approaching. He witnessed several unauthorized persons armed with knives boarding the tug. He reported to the OOW, who immediately activated the general alarm. The unauthorized persons escaped from the tug when they realised their presence was discovered. The crew conducted a search and found some mooring ropes and shackles were stolen. The crew was not injured and there was no damage to the tug. The incident was reported to the Bangladesh Coast Guard.
