Ferry put up for auction
The Halifax Regional Municipality has put up the "Dartmouth III" for auction with a $150,000 price tag. The municipality posted the auction for the ferry on govdeals.ca, a government liquidation website. The auction closes on Jan. 9, 2017. The ship was described as in working condition, but the batteries need to be replaced. The purchase does not include the video monitoring equipment. Also, the engine has been running for 13,432 hours since the ship’s last rebuild. The asset may not be fit for use and may require substantial repairs at the buyer’s expense.
