Tanker allided with bridge
The "Frankenland" allided with the Auheimer Bdiidge on thee Main in the morning of Jan 22, 2012. The tank vessel was considerable damaged. The ship had been running downstream and had its wheelhouse only half lowered. Due to the high water level of the river 2,5 metres above average, the height underneath the bridge was only 5,5 metres, so that the ship hit against the construction with its wheelhouse. Train traffic on the bridge was stopped for two hours during surveys, but it seemed to have withstood the impact.
