Engine failure off Kilitbahir
The 'Isik 2' suffered an engine failure off the coast of Kilitbahir en route from Diliskilesi to İzmir while entering the Çanakkale Strait on June 8 at 8 a.m. The ship was assisted by the tug 'Kurtarma 14' ((IMO: 9913585)) and anchored at Karanlık Liman in pos. 40° 02.06' N 026° 18.45' E at 8.45 a.m. under the coordination of the Çanakkale Ship Traffic Services Center, where it remained stationary as of June 10. Repairs in Tuzla completed
The repairs of the 'Gil' have been completed in the shipyard in Tuzla on Aug 17, and the vessel has been shifted to Tuzla anchorage and renamed 'Isik 2'. Sea trials were carried out with satisfactorily results under the presence of a class surveyor. Subsequently, a new set of trading certificates was issued by the flag state authority and classification society. The vessel will be sailing from Kartal anchorage upon completion of departure formalities. As of Aug 18, i remained stationary in pos. 40° 52.54' N 029° 11.86' E.
Repairs in Tuzla almost completed
Steel replacement work on the 'Gil' has been completed and a tightness test of ballast tanks was under progress. Upon completion of permanent repairs, sea trials will be carried out at Tuzla anchorage under the supervision of class surveyors. The vessel remained stationary at Tuzla anchorage as of July 18.
