Cargo ship evacuated after grounding off Dalian
On Oct 25, 2014, the "Jia Cheng 399" ran aground near Changxing Island off Dalian. The incident occurred at about 4:30 pm LT while the vessel was en route from Yingkou to Yantai. It did not sustain damage initially, but an hour after the grounding, it was listing about three degrees to port. The Liaoning authorities dispatched the rescue vessel "Bei Hai Jiu 116", two tugs and pilots. The "Jia Cheng 399" was abandoned at around 9:30 p.m. The 12-man crew was evacuated, there were no reports of injuries.
