Grounding off Gillimauk

The 'Trisakti Adinda', during the crossing of the Bali Strait en route from Ketapang Harbour with 30 passengers on board, was swept away by the current and ran aground near Gilimanuk Harbour on May 27, 2022. When approaching Gilimanuk Harbour while waiting for the permission to dock at the LCM pier, the ship was dragged by the current and ran aground in shallow waterat around 05.20 a.m. WITA. In order to keep the ship from shift to even shallower waters, the captain then lowered the front ramp about 400 meters from the shoreline. Attempts to refloat with own power failed, because the sea water receded. At 07.35 a.m. WITA, the Jembrana SAR Team attended with five pepople. The passengers, most of whom were drivers, were not evacuated. After three hours, at 08.35 a.m. the ferry refloated with the high tide and docked at 08.45 a.m. All passengers were directed to the Asdp Gilimanuk VIP room to be checked for their condition and given consumption. 49 passengers taken off grounded ferry

In the Bali Strait the KMP 'Tri Sakti Adinda' ran aground in shallow waters about one mile from the port of Gilimanuk s on Nov 13, 2019, around midnight with 49 passengers aboard. The ship was evacuated by the combined SAR team in the morning of Nov 14. The 'Tri Sakti Adinda' had sailed from Ketapang Port, Banyuwangi at 10 p.m. bound to Gilimanuk with seven motorbikes, three cars, six trucks, and four other vehicles. It experienced steering trouble while preparing to approach the dock and was caught by a strong current so the ship got out of control. It drifted eastwards until finally running aground in shallow waters at 11 p.m. The crew of 14 tried to get the steering gear of the ship working again, but fauled. The captain finally requested assistance from the Combined SAR evacuation team at 1 a.m. Evacuation of the passengers, amoong them three children, began at 1:45 a.m. with an RHIB and was completed at 02.50 a.m. The crew stayed on board. The ferry was pulled off by a tug and docked at the port of Gilimanuk on Nov 16.
