Collision in fog
In dense fog the unloaded "Labe 6", 1164 ts (EU-No.: 09551070), bound to Antwerp, was in bow-on-bow-collision and wit the Belgian barge "Comus", 3021 ts (EU-No.: 06003670), which was coming from Wesel, at Lobith in the early morning of Nov 26, 2016. Both ships were considerably damaged above the waterline. Rijkswaterstaat attended quickly with the "RWS 43". One man was slightly wounded, but could be treated on board. The "Labe 6" and "Comus" anchored after the incident and then berthed in Lobith/Tolkamer. The "Comus" left Tolkamer on Nov 27 around 6 a.m. and continued the voyage to Dortmund. The "Labe 6" remained in the Bijland basin. The cause of the collision was under investigation.
