Cargo ship lacked required papers

The captain of the "Landy" had to pay a security ferrbecause on Feb 27, 2017, as he could not provide all the required papers during the transit of the Kiel Canal in Brunsbüttel. The payment was settled on board in cash.He is now facing an investigation because of the violation of the Marine Insurance Proof. At 12.30 p.m. officers from the water police in Brunsbüttel inspected the "Landy" prior to the eastbound transit from the Elbe in Brunsbüttel. They found that the so-called wreckage liability certificate for the ship was not on board. Only the documents of the insurance could be presented, but not the certificate in the form of a certificate by the flag state. The trade association for the transport and transport industry also informed. The ship could continue its journey from Southampton to Södertalje as the general evidence of insurance was provided by the documents submitted.
