Fuel pipe leakage

The 'Marfret Niolon', en route from Antwerp with 701 metric tonnes cargo on board, suffered a fuel pipe leakage and went adrift in position 50 13 21 N, 001 46 21 W on March 12, 2022, at 08.35 a.m. UTC. The engineers fixed the issue, and the 'Marfret Niolon' continued its voyage at 10.30 a.m.

Fire in engine room

On July 28, 2019, at 2 a.m. the SNSM station Sète was alerted after a fire broke out aboard the "Marfret Niolon" ten miles off the coast. She had sailed from Marseille on July 27 at 6.30 a.m. The lifeboat "Admiral Leenhardt" responded, but upon its arrival the fire was already brought under control by the crew of 15. But the cargo ship was disabled. The CROSS Med in Toulon requested the assistannce of the tug "TSM Moulis" from the port of Sète, as well as the offshore tug "Abeille Flanders". While the two ships were underway, the SNSM boat remained alongside the roro ship in case the fire resumed on board, until the early morning. The "Marfret Riolon" was taken in tow by the "Abeille Flandre" towards the port of Marseille where she arrived in the afternoon. She sailed again on Aug 24 at noon and headed to La Gulette in Tunisia with an ETA as of Aug 26.
