Grounding off Kingsville
The 'Mississagi' ran aground with a cargo of stone while approaching Kingsville on the Lake Erie, Ontario, upon its arrival from Sandusky on Oct 17, 2020, at 2 p.m. The ship blocked the Kingsville harbour, so that ferry services to Pelee Island were delayed for nearly eight hours.Around 9 p.m. it could be refloated and sailed to Detroit where it was safely berthed.
Disabled bulkcarrier towed to Sarnia
Coming from detroit, the "Mississagi" suffered an engine failure on Nov 27, 2018, in the upper Lake Huron. The bulkcarrier was anchored at Great Duck Island, Ontario, and on Nov 29 it was taken in tow by the tug "Manitou" (MMSI: 367115580) and pulled to Sarnia in lower Huron where it berthed on Nov 30 at 10 a.m.
