Arrested vessel to be sold at auction
The 'Anafarta', which has been under arrest by a local court since March 1, 2021, at Kartal due to unpaid credits, will be sold at an auction by local judicial sale office along with the Harbour Master at Tuzla on Dec 27. The vessel remained stationary under arrest at Kartal for the time being.
Vessel went adrift in Kartal
On Feb 9, 2021, the mooring ropes of the 'Anafarta' broke in adverse weather at the old Kartal repair pier. The vessel drifted away from the pier and allided with other nearby ships. It has been laid up at Kartal since September 2019 with only a watchman crew on board. The vessel was taken back to its berth the same evening with additional crew and stevedore assistance. No leaks, pollution and injuries were reported. Structural damages were noted on side shell plating above the water level. The Harbour Master has placed an incident investigation file. State surveyors were appointed to investigate the cause of the incident and assess the extent of damage.
Refloated after four weeks
On Oct 26 at 3.15 p.m. the "Anafarta" was refloated in the Istanbul Strait by the tug "Kurtarma 8" after lengthy preparations.
