Search for lost MH 370 flight to be stopped

Thu May 24 21:18:06 CEST 2018 Timsen

The search for the lost Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 which more than four years ago somewhere in the Indian Ocean, will be stopped at the end of this week, confirmed Anthony Loke, Malaysian Minister of Transport. The aircraft, which had on board 239 passengers bound from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing, disappeared from the radar on March 8, 2014. The initial search, a company shared by Malaysia, China and Australia, was canceled for the first time in January 2017. At that time, no trace had been found of the flight. At the beginning of2018 the "Ocean Infinity" was contracted by the Malaysian government to continue the search for the aircraft. The company would only be compensated if results were achieved. The "Ocean Infinity" had a view of a $ 70 million fee and initially had a three-month contract to search for the wreck of the aircraft. According to the Malaysian government, that period was repeatedly extended. Yet another additional extension, according to Minister Loke, makes little sense.
