Nord Farer saved 300 migrants
Enroute to Aliaga the "Nord Farer" was asked by the MRCC Rome in the evening of Apr 8, 2014, to help three boats with migrants in distress. The crew helped everyone on board and improvised food and shelter. The 301 migrants were aboard three inflatable boats. One man lost his life before the tanker arrived at the scene. The "Nord Farer" was directed to the port of Catania in Sicily, where the immigrants could disembark from the ship at night, and the tanker has continued its journey to Aliaga.
