Tug sank in Temryuk
The "Priboy" sank in the port of Temryuk, Krasnodar Territory on Jan 17, 2019, around 9 a.m. The tug pulled the barge loaded with coal when it suffered water ingress and started to list to starboard side. No injuries were reported, and the crew had time to safely evacuate. Another tug tried to stabilized the tug at the quay. The water ingress was caused by breaches in the ballast tank, forepeak and the engine room. Pumps on board failed to control the water ingress, and in the afternoon the vessel capsized and rested on bottom with foreship being submerged. Crew left the ship. Divers were deployed to seal the holes. The wreck was to be removed soon. It was thought to have become total loss and will be scrapped. An oil leak was brought under control, being contained by booms and later removed.
