Fire in engine room
The 'Pride of York' with 346 persons on board suffered a fire in the engine room, in position 53 11 22.8 N, 001 15 12 E, on Oct 9, 2019, at 01.40 a.m. enroute from Zeebrugge to Kingston-upon-Hull. The on board extinguishing system managed to supress the fire, and the crew started investigating for any further issues. The vessel was slowly continuing the passage with the remaining engine and reached the port at 10.15 a.m. All crew and passengers were accounted for safe and well. At 8 p.m. the ferry left the port again.
Medevac off Zeebrugge
The docking of the "Pride of York" in Hull was delayed for 1,5 hours after a man had to be airlifted to hospital. The ferry was returning to Hull after a trip to Zeebrugge on July 29, 2018, when an air ambulance was called after a man became unwell. The man was assisted by doctors on board the ferry.. After he was hoisted at 7.40 p.m. on a stretcher, a helicopter took himto hospital in Belgium. The ferry had turned around towards Belgium and was waylaid and turned around back towards Hull.
