Container ship tilted after grounding
The "Wannafang 88" ran aground and started to leak on the Yangtze river in the Shanghai port area on July 19, 2016. The vessel developed a list, and the situation was found so critical, that the Shanghai Maritime Bureau ordered eight crew members to be evacuated. Four of the crew left the vessel and went into patrol boats, another four rejected to leave, but short time later had to abandon ship, too. 80 containers on board were timewise in danger of going over board, but a rescue team managed to stabilize the vessel. The containers were offloaded onto another vessel.
