Port Klang nears top ten container ranking

Mon Jan 23 07:34:38 CET 2017 arnekiel

Based on its performance in 2015, Port Klang says it should be ranked in 11th place in the World Container League for 2016, moving up one spot from 2015. The Port Klang Authority said the port’s positive growth can be attributed to several factors, mainly efficient and productive terminal operators, strong support from the logistics community and the use of advanced and greener cargo handling equipment. “The strong cooperation and coordination between the Port Authority and the terminal operators in resolving operational issues has raised the confidence level of port users,” Port Klang Authority said in a press release. The port registered a positive growth of 10.8% in container handling during 2016 when compared with 2015, handling a total of 13,169,577 teu. In terms of container throughput, the port registered growth of 3.6 % and export throughput was also up by 3.9 % - See more at: http://www.portstrategy.com/news101/world/asia/port-klang-nears-top-ten-container-ranking#sthash.sqK9Vieg.dpuf
