Fri Dec 26 13:20:53 CET 2014 Timsen

Six Philippine and Indonesian survivors of the "Oryong 501" arrived in Busan on Dec 26, along with the bodies of those killed in the accident on Dec. 1. Six Philippine and Indonesian crewmen and one Russian inspector aboard the trawler survived the sinking, while 26 others remained missing. The survivors, emerging from the Russian ship hand-in-hand, were to undergo a two-day interrogation about the sinking at the Coast Guard from Dec 27 after having health check-ups at a local hospital. The bodies of the dead foreign crewmen were sent to their home countries after identification. South Korea sent three Coast Guard officials to Russia on Dec 24 to question the Russian survivor about the sinking and the evacuation process. The investigation will be focused on what delayed the evacuation as well as the circumstances of the vessel's sinking. All the South Korean and Russian rescue ships were set to end their rescue operations in the western Bering Sea at the end of December.
