Adeline disabled on the Northsea

Sat Nov 25 21:13:05 CET 2017 Timsen

In the morning of Nov 24, 2017, the "Adeline" ran into trouble while en route from Rotterdam to Purfleet north of Margate. The disabled ship started to drift, and the tug "MTS Vanquish" (IMO: 9559573) was dispatched from Yarmouth in the evening hours. The "Adeline" was taken on tow in the morning of Nov 25 towards Zeebrugge with the "Union Coral" (IMO: 9314260) joining as stern tug in WNW winds of six Beaufort off Oostende and was berthed at the Albert II Dock on Nov 26 at 5 p.m. She left Zeebrugge again on Dec 1 at noon, bound to Purfleet, ETA 9 p.m. Photos: http://www.tugspotters.com/app/content/2017/11/sleep-adeline-mts-vanquish-en-union-coral/

Large cargo ship ADELINE passed through Tower Bridge

Fri Oct 26 10:18:07 CEST 2012 arnekiel

Something unusual on Friday morning at 8.45 hrs (Oct. 26, 2012), a large cargo ship passed through Tower Bridge for a ceremonial naming event. It’s fairly rare for large cargo ships to pass through the Bridge now, save for the City of London’s waste containers and the occasional construction barge, and the ship in question this time is BIG. Subject to favourable weather conditions on the day, and with a beam of 25.2m, MS Adeline passed through Tower Bridge to be christened while moored alongside HMS Belfast. She will leave at midday.
