Vessel capsized and sank after drifting on rocks, all crew safe

General cargo vessel Ana in the afternoon July 23 reported dragging anchor on Lianjiang road, north of Fuzhou, during typhoon Matmo passage. In the afternoon July 24 vessel requested assistance, as vessel drifted to the rocks .17 crew were rescued by helicopters, no casualties. Judging from a Coast Guard photo, vessel capsized and sank. Disabled cargo ship towed to safety

The "Ana" suffered a mechanical problem and got disabled in heavy seas in East China sea on July 7, 2014,north of the Taiwan Strait, odin.tc reports. The vessel, which was en route from Zhoushan to Singapore, requested assistance, A Chinese salvage vessel was dispatched to take freighter in tow. After several failed attempts, the salvage vessel finally managed to tow the "Ana" to a safe anchorage off Lianjiang on July 8. The 17 Indian crew members were reported to be safe and sound.
