Two injured in car collision with ramp

Two passengers of the "Barfleur" were taken to hospital after their car collided with a railing on the ship to shore ramp after the ferry docked at Poole in the evening of July 31, 2019, following its crossing from Cherbourg. Neither casualty was seriously injured, but they were treated for shock, cuts and bruises by ferry staff then paramedics. An ambulance was called whilst the crew administered first aid to the car’s driver and passenger. Both had minor cuts and bruises. Both passengers were taken to Poole General Hospital.

Medevac off Cherbourg

On Nov 6, 2017, at 12.25 p.m. the CROSS Jobourg was alerted by the Center for Maritime Medical Consultation Maritime (CCMM) in Toulouse after a French woman felt discomforted aboard the "Barfleur" which was enroute from Cherbourg to Portsmouth. The ferry was 13 nautical miles north of Cherbourg. During a conference call of the CROSS Jobourg, CCMM and the SAMU a medevac of the crew member was decided. The CROSS Jobourg deployed a Cayman helicopter of the Navy base at Maupertus with a military medical team from Querqueville on board which was dropped off onto the ship to carry out an initial assessment. The patient was then hoisted aboard the helicopter and taken to the Caen Carpiquet airport. After the arrival at 1:20 p.m. she was taken to the University Hospital in Caen.

Migrant discovered on car deck

On Feb 1, 2017, at 10.30, a migrant was discovered aboard the p "Barfleur" during a safety control of the car deck. The ferry had just sailed from Cherbourg to Poole and had to make a U-turn.The man was handed over to the boarder police at 11 p.m. The ferry then resumed the transit to Poole.
