Allision in Sandvikvåg

The "Bergensfjord" allided with the pier in Sandvikvåg in the afternoon of July 1, 2015. After the accident, the trap door could not be opened, and the ship had to turn around to let the cars off backwards. The allision left only two ferries running between Halhjem and Sandvikvåg.

Fire alarm on ferry after turbo failure

On Nov 23, 2014, at 8 p.m. the "Bergensfjord" suffered smoke development in the engine room due to a turbo failure in one engine. The smoke also spread to the car deck. There were 151 passengers and crew on board. Fire alarm was raised, and the passengers were gathered in a common room and briefed about the situation. Everyone had to put on life jackets. Both police and fire rescue were informed about the smoke development. After the crew had gained control, the ship continued to Halhjem with the remaining three engines where it arrived at 9.15 p.m. The fire department was ready at the quay to check the engine room after the ferry docked. The crew had been very professional so that no one has felt unsafe at any time. The evening sailings were canceled. Problems with electronics disrupt ferry service

The "Bergensfjord" started to have problems with the board electronics on Feb 18, 2012. The problem with the ship connecting Sandvikvåg and Halhjem left in periods only two ferries. After the an electronic failure it was a days long struggle to get it localized and solve the problems. The ferry has remained docked at Halhjem while looking for the cause of the error. The disruption caused major problems on the E39 Mortavika-Arsvågen. By Feb 21, the problems could be solved.
