Wreck of sunken freighter located

The wreck of the "Bunga Melati 79" which sank after the collision with the tug "Buana Express 10" near Wawonii island on July 20, 2018, was located at a depth of 20 metres on July 24. The National Transportation Safety Committee interviewed the crew members of both vessels as part of their investigation. Initial reports stated that the incident occurred due to bad weather conditions. They will be reviewing the related permits and documents of the vessels involved. The National Transportation Safety Committee was also scheduled to inspect the area, where the incident occurred. The crew of the "Bunga Melati 79" reportedly heard a loud bang that came from the front of the ship, when the collision occurred and then the vessel started to sink.
