Disabled yacht towed to Peel
The Peel RNLI all-weather lifeboat "Ruby Clery" was launched on July 27, 2016, at 4.15 p.m. to assist the "Bystrze" in difficulties 5,5 miles north of the station. The lifeboat, with coxswain Frankie Horne at the helm and the rest of the volunteer crew, made good time in fine weather and found the yacht with eight persons on board drifting with engine failure. The yacht was taken in tow and returned to the inner harbour in Peel. The yacht was on passage from Carrick Fergus to Peel when it encountered difficulties.
