Main engine trouble after yard stay

Fri Jun 09 09:01:10 CEST 2017 Timsen

The departure of the "Cape Maria" from Hamburg, which had been overhauled at Blohm & Voss Yard since Apr 25, 2017, which was scheduled for May 7, was postponed due to trouble with the main engine. The tugs "Perfect" and "Michel", which already had been requested to assist the bulkcarrier from dock 11 to Finkenwerder, had to be called off. On June 9 at 4 a.m. the ship was finally towed to the pilings in Finkenwerder-West where it was moored before proceeding further towards the Northsea.

Drug find on bulkcarrier

Fri May 16 16:16:47 CEST 2014 Timsen

On May 9, 2014, the British police found a package with 108 kilograms of cocaine attached to the hull of the "Cape MariA2 below the waterline in the rudder area. The bulk carrier was anchored off the deep-water port at Hunterston Bay after it had arrived from Colombia. The police did not blame the crew. Three Dutch nationalities were arrested in a hotel in connection with the find.
