Ship arrived in Eleusis repair yard

The 'Storm I' was towed to Eleusis for repairs on Nov 14. It berthed at the Eleusis repair pier upon completion of formalities on Nov 17. A detailed damage inspection and repair scheduling were in progress.

Container ship under tow to Piraeus

The 'Storm I', en route from Gulluk to the West Mediterranean, suffered an engine failure in vicinity 35 47 03N, 022 51 00E, in the southwestern region off Kythira island. On Oct 25. 2021, the tug 'Platytera' (IMO:9439278) was contracted to provide assistance. The vessel has been secured, and the towage operation has commenced as of 8 a.m. with an ETA at Piraeus as of Oct 27.

Wind gusts wreaked havoc in Novorossiysk

Four ships broke from their moorings or dragged anchor in Novorossiysk between 9.15 p.m. and 9.45 p.m. on July 25, 2018, after the wind suddenly changed its direction from north to southeast and increased its speed up to 24-25 meters/sec. The cargo m/v "Serenada" broke her stern moorings and allided with berth no.39. The sheerleg "Barbaros 3" broke the fore and aft moorings and though dropping both anchors, the crane drifted against the floating dock No. 3 of the Novorossiysk Ship Repair Yard. The bulkcarrier "Lion" broke her stern moorings and allided with berth no.5, and the"Storm" dragged her anchor, drifted outside the anchorage limits and hit the bottom by stern. The ship managed to refloat by own means and returned to its anchorage. All damages suffered by ships and port installations were reported as non-serious.
