Fri Apr 04 10:51:38 CEST 2014 Timsen

The body of one fisherman of the "Carina" was brought to the surface at Farsund with a ROV during the night of Apr 3. In the morning works started to recover the other. He was brought to the surface at 3 p.m. The wreck was on a water depth of 155 meters. On Apr 2 it had become clear that both fishermen were in the wheelhouse of the sunken boat. The first was located on Mar 18, two weeks after the wreck was found. Norwegian report with photos: http://www.nrk.no/sorlandet/omkomne-fiskere-hentes-opp-1.11646695

Wreck of missing shrimper and one body found

Wed Mar 19 10:03:37 CET 2014 Timsen

In the evening of Mar 18, 2014, the wreck of the missing "Carina" was found by the crew of the Norwegian Coastguard vessel "Nornen" in a water depth of 155 meters. The prawn trawler disappeared with two men on board on Feb 12 between Lindens and Farsund. One man was found by a ROV inside the wheelhouse around 7.30 p.m. The next goal was to gain insight into the cabin of the boat. The police began the search for the trawler again on Mar 17. The discovery was made on Mar 18 at 4 p.m. The body was not yet identified. Missing were the brothers Arnfinn (66) and Øystein Fjeldskår (63) from Lindesnes.

Hope is fading for two brothers

Thu Feb 13 17:36:47 CET 2014 Timsen

On Feb 13 the search for the "Carina" continued in strategic places in the archipelago in Farsund with over 80 persons including personnel from the Red Cross, Civil Defence and volunteers. The search was continued until nightfall. Also a Sea King, the lifeboat "Ægir", some fishing boats and the Coastguard vessel "Nornen" were included in the search. Police and rescue teams planned to search for the boat until 7 p.m. though hope was dwindling. At 10 a.m. the radar dome of a vessel was found at one of Lister beaches and tkaen to the sheriff's office in Farsund for further investigation. Before, a life raft was found at Tranevåg and fish boxes drifted ashore at Ullerøya, but no trace of the crew, two brothers in their 60s. Police confirmed that the two brothers' phones suddenly went off in the night.
