Celine crew member ran amok threatening crew and the vessel

Thu Aug 20 10:08:18 CEST 2015 arnekiel

General cargo vessel Celine asked for immediate police assistance on Aug 19 while sailing west of Sines, Portugal, en route from Figueira da Foz Portugal to Ceuta Spain, with cargo of pulp. One of the crew of Turkish nationality ran amok and was trying to literally destroy the vessel, by setting everything on fire and threatening to kill the rest of the crew. Police arrived as soon as it was possible, and arrested the man. Police assume his craziness was caused by labor or wage dispute. Vessel resumed sailing.
