Repairs of collision damage completed
Repairs of the 'Clipper Como' were completed and steel replaced locations tightness tests were carried out by a class surveyor with satisfactory results. A new set of trading certificates was issued by the attending classification society and the flag state authority. Subsequently, the vessel was granted sailing permission and departed from Yalova on Feb 7. It arrived and berthed at Nemrut Bay on Feb 8. The vessel had been loaded with cargo of phosphate bound from Jorf Lasfar to Samsun which was discharged at Nemrut Bay after the collision and was re-loaded from a custom custody warehouse between Feb 8 to 13. Upon completion of cargo reloading operations and custom formalities, the vessel sailed from Nemrut Bay on Feb 13, bound for Samsun with an ETA as of Feb 15. The 'Levantes' remained moored at Chalkis port in laid up status as of Feb 15.
Repairs to last until end of 2021
The dry docking and steel works of the'Clipper Como' at the Besiktas Shipyard in Altinova were expected to be completed by the end of year. Sea trials will be carried out at the anchorage area upon completion of the repairs. A new set of trading documents will then be issued by classification society surveyors. The bulk carrier 'Levantes' remained moored at Chalkis as of Dec 7.
Repairs have commenced after damage survey
The cutting operation of marked locations and steel mantling of the 'Clipper Como' has commenced at the shipyard in Altinova as of Nov 11. Upon completion of welding operations, strength tests will be carried out under supervision of a class surveyor. The repairs monitoring and surveying will be supervised by H&M insurance experts. The 'Levantes' was yet to receive departure permission and remained stationary at Chalkis anchorage.
