Coaster troubled in Thyborøn

Tue Jan 17 13:26:50 CET 2017 Timsen

The Thyborøn Rescue Station was alerted in the night of Dec 16, 2017, after the "DC Eems" got problems when leaving the Limfjord quay in the south port. The coaster had lost control in the strong current and was stranded on the east side of the fairway. The lifeboat "Martha Lerche" tried to keep the vessel against the stream so that it could not drift onto a sand bank. It turned out to be a little difficult in the strong current, but after about two hours of wrangling, they managed to release the ship which could continue the voyage to Harlingen with approximately 4500 tons gravel, ETA Jan 18.
