Oil residues drained from sunken factory ship
After a complex process the inspection, pumping and storage of hydrocarbons from the "Don Humberto" in the Bay of Coquimbo was done. The company Resolve drained 18,180 liters of oily residues from the wreck between July and Augus. The government has constantly been following the progress of operations and has not registered any spill of oil pollution. The oil remains will be transferred to the refinery of the National Oil Company ENAP in the city of Con Con. The extracted hydrocarbons have been stored in 20 containers, which were ready for shipment. The work was complex because of the extent of damage on the vessel. The contract required that during the following 92 days after finishing the work, there was a guarantee of permanent monitoring the wreck that no leakage occurred. The Regional Government allocated 360 million Pesos for the the work.
