Engine failure off Vietnam
The 'Promote' suffered an engine failure and went adrift in the waters off the Cam Ranh Bay in the Khanh Hoa province, Vietnam, on Aug 6, 2020. The ship was towed to a safe anchorage in Phan Rang waters, South of Cam Ranh, where the crew fixed the issue. The ship moored in Cua Cam on Aug 10 and arrived at Ho Chi Minh port on Aug 17.
Engine failure off Cam Ranh
The 'Promote' with a crew of 20 on board suffered an engine failure and was disabled on Aug 6, 2020, east of Cam Ranh (Khánh Hòa province) about nautical miles from Hon Chut en route from Ho Chi Minh City to Hai Phong. The Naval Command dispatched the 'Tàu 991' from the Cam Ranh military port to assist. At 5 p.m. it reached the vessel which was adrift with 1,5 knots in pos. 109 18'24" N 110 45'36" E to a safe anchorage at Dong Kinh at 10 p.m. to provide technical assistance and repair the main engine. As of Aug 7, the ship was under way again.
