East Blacksea distressed in Aegean Sea

The "East Blacksea" suffered engine failure enroute from Rijeka to Gemlik and sent a distress call in the Aegean Sea on June 3, 2014, at 7.30 p.m. UTC, odin.tc reports. The cargo vessel "Nikolay Klinov" which was en route from Eysk to Nemrut diverted to the ship and, after the approval from the shipowner, the Albros Company, to render assistance, approached the disabled vessel on June 4 at 8.30 p.m. in position 39 35 7 N 025 58 2 E, 12 miles south of southern tip of Bozcaada island. At 9 p.m. the freighter was taken on tow, and at 10.30 p.m. was safely anchored in position 39 37 6 N 026 06 2 E. After no more assistance was required. The "Nikolay Klinov" resumed its voyage from Istanbul to Aliaga.
