Shipping agency punished for violations of environmental laws

On Nov 28, 2016 the "Equinox Dawn" was subject of a port state control in Rostock. Officers of the police found violations of the environmental regulations. In addition to an infringement when switching to low-sulfur fuel to sail on the Baltic Sea the illegal storage of fuel residues in an unauthorized tank were punished. In consultation with the responsible state prosecutor's office Rostock and the Federal Maritime and Hydrographic Agency, a safety fine in a total amount of 3000 Euro was pronounced against the ship's management.

Food Directorate of Bangladesh refused to accept wheat shipment

The Food Directorate of Bangladesh found two shipments of Russian wheat, totaling 9930 tons, unacceptable as being rot and unfit for food. Two bulk carries, the "Spar Libra" with 51000 tons of wheat, loaded in Novorossiysk, and the "Equinox Dawn" with 48300 tons, loaded in Tuapse, were presently anchored south of Chittagong. Food Directorate issued an official refusal to accept the shipments on Apr 5, 2016.
