Medevac off Alaskan coast

Coast Guard watchstanders received a report from the "Ever Lively" on July 27, 2016, of a man suffering from symptoms of an abdominal infection. Watchstanders consulted with the duty flight surgeon who recommended medevac. Watchstanders requested the launch of a Jayhawk helicopter and a HC-130 Hercules aircraft. The Jayhawk crew hoisted the man and transported him to Cold Bay where they rendezvoused with Med Flight to transfer him for further care.

Evergreen Names the 16th of 17 L-type Vessels

EVER LIVELY, the sixteenth in a series of Evergreen Line's L-type containerships built by Samsung Heavy Industries, was christened by Bronson Hsieh, the Evergreen Group's Second Vice Group Chairman, at the shipbuilder's shipyard in Korea on Jan. 22. The official rope-cutting of the new 8,452-TEU vessel was performed by Ms. Ching-fen Cheng, Executive Vice President of Central Reinsurance Corporation. EVER LIVELY is owned by Evergreen Marine (Singapore) Pte Ltd and Evergreen Marine (UK) Ltd respectively. The ship is 334.8 meters in length, 45.8 meters wide, has 948 reefer plugs and a draft of 14.2 meters. It can cruise at speeds up to 24.5 knots. She will be delivered in February and join Evergreen Line's Far East - Middle East route.
