Grounding in Vejle Fjord

Coming from Fredericia, the "Faxborg" ran aground in the Vejle Fjord on Aug 7, 2014, around 5 p.m. It got stuck at the coast of the Assendrup Forest. The ship with a Danish captain and four crew members, missed the turn at the entrance of the Vejle Fjord. Police investigations showed that neither the captain or crew were under the influence of alcohol. The Maritime Assistance Service (MAS) was called to pull the vessel of. The operation was monitored by the Søværnets Operative Kommando which sent the patrol boat "Nymfen". Also the anti pollution vessel "Marie Miljø" was on its way to Korsør in order to be on standby during the refloating attempts. 14 hours after the grounding the unloaded vessel was pulled off by tugs on Aug 8 around 7 a.m. and taken to Vejle where the local police in Vejle conducted hearings to find out why the ship ran aground.
