Body of missing crew member recovered

The body of Sudarmin Aminuddin, 31, who fell ovver board from the "Fos Leo" near the "​​Bertam" oil rig off Kemaman on Feb 14 has been found on Feb 17. The body could be retrieved and brought to Kemaman. The man fell into the sea during a training exercise about 86.7 nautical miles from Tanjung Berhala, Kemaman.

Crew member fell over board and was presumed dead

A crew member of the "Fos Leo" fell into the sea off Kemaman on Feb 14, 2016. Sudarmin Aminuddin, 31, from Tawau, Sabah, fell over board while undergoing Fast Rescue Force training on the ship. The incident occurred in the vicinity of the oil rig "Bertam" about 86,7 nautical miles from Tanjung Berhala. SAR operations involved the "Amanah" and "Redang" with 37 MMEA officers and crew and ended pn Feb 16 at 7 p.m. The Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA) had carried out a seabed search by a scuba diving team, and the MMEA vessel "Amanah" carried out diving searches at the location with the help of a remote operating vehicle (ROV). Also involved in the operations were the Royal Malaysian Navy ship "Gempita" based at Tanjung Gelang, Kuantan wtih 41 crew members and seven divers, as well as the Good Samaritan "Setiawangsa" with 23 crew members.
