Deadly accident found suspicious
A 47 year old Bulgarian deckhand of the 'Ludogorets' fell 14 meters deep into a cargo hold and died on the spot while the ship was berthed in Samsun on Oct 12, 2021. The police launched an investigation and found the circumstances of the accident suspicious. The bulk carrier with a cargo of copper had arrived in port, coming from Bourgas, on Oct 9. It sailed again on Oct 13 at 4.10 p.m., headed to Poti with an ETA as of Oct 14.
Engine lost starting air
Enroute from Port Weller, the main engine of the 'Ludogorets' lost starting air in position 45 13 13.0N, 074 13 31.0W, on Nov 12, 2929, at 4.35 p.m.The vessel proceeded to the Saint-Zotique Anchorage, Quebec. On Nov 14 it berthed in Montreal and headed to Bordeaux, ETA Nov 25.
Navibulgar takes German handysize pair (Marbioko renamed Ludogorets)
Bulgarian handysize specialist Navibulgar has completed the purchase of a pair of Chinese-built handysize bulkers from Germany’s MarConsult. The 29,000 dwt Marbacan and Marbioko, have changed hands and been renamed Oborishte and Ludogorets. No price was given by brokers for the transaction. The new additions to its fleets lifts the number of modern bulk carriers in the Navibulgar fleet to around 30 ships, and that is expected to grow further by the end of the year as it takes delivery of more 36,000 dwt newbuildings from China.
