Vroon takes delivery of the third of six livestock carriers

Sun Feb 23 19:09:59 CET 2014 arnekiel

On Friday 21 February 2014, Vroon have taken delivery of MV Gelbray Express, the third of six livestock carriers being constructed at Cosco Guangdong Shipyard. The remaining three vessels are scheduled for delivery to the company in May 2014 and the second half of 2015, the company said in its press release. These livestock carriers are “next‑generation” livestock vessels, boasting a cargo capacity of approximately 4,500 sqm and a cruising range of around 18,000 NM. They are fitted with animal-welfare facilities exceeding Australian (AMSA) regulations and incorporate a revolutionary bow design that will ensure fuel savings while maintaining high speeds and maximum comfort for cargo and crew. In a ceremony held at the shipyard last week, the vessel was christened by Ms Sophie Wang, Managing Director of Landmark Global Exports Pty Ltd.. Gelbray Express will commence a medium-term charter with Landmark Global Exports.
