Four injured in quay allision

On July 27, 2016, at 11.15 a.m. the "Gret Palucca" suffered engine failure when entering the port of List upon Sylt so that the ship did not reverse as intended, and allided with a jetty. Three passengers and one crew member were slightly injured. The nearby lifeboat "Pidder Lüng" attended immediately and took alongside the fishing vessel, which was adrift in the port basin and threatened to hit other ships. It pushed the "Gret Palucca" to the quay that the alerted rescue forces were soon able to treat the injured who were transported to the Northsea Hospital. The "Gret Palucca" had on board 52 passengers who had participated in a pleasure cruise off the island. She suffered significant damage at the bow, and the scheduled sailings were cancelled until further notice. The repair of the crankshaft and hull damage was to be carried out at the HDR Husum Yard.
