Disabled ship towed to Tuzla

After the crew failed to carry out repairs of the engine damage of the 'Yaren S', the tug 'Yamurtalik' was tasked to tow the vessel to the Tuzla shipyard area. Upon completing the towage approval formalities, the vessel heaved its anchor aon Jan 26 at 9 a.m. The ship moored off Tuzla in pos. 40° 51.16' N 029° 17.16' E on Jan 27 at 9 a.m. arrived After having berthed at the shipyard pier on Jan 27, a detailed damage survey was carried out by a class surveyor together with the owner's technical superintendent. Subsequently, repairs have commenced. The ship remained stationary as of Feb 9.

Power loss in Canakkale Strait

The 'Yaren S' suffered a power loss while en route from Aliaga to Novorossiysk at the southern entrance of the Canakkale Strait on Jan 22, 2021, at 10 p.m. The coastal safety tug 'Turkeli' and a rescue boat, together with a technical team attended to provide assistance for the vessel and the traffic safety. The drifting ship was secured by the tug and towed to the Karanlik Liman Anchorage where it dropped anchor in pos. 40° 0.86' N 026° 15.72' E for repairs.
