Barge grounded on river dam
On July 6, 2016, at 6.45 a.m. the "Hamaritha", 1702 ts (EU-No.: 02323494), ran aground at the Rheinknie Bridge on the Rhine in Düsseldorf when trying to shorten the way in the river curve. The unloaded ship could be refloated by another barge within short time so that no closure of the river became necessary. The "Hamaritha" had got stuck on a submerged river dam which had lost the warning sign in an allision of the barge "Port de Mar" on June 14 and which could not yet be replaced due to the high water Level and strong currents.
