Engine failure in Heraklion

The Port Authority of Heraklion was informed in the afternoon of July 29, 2023, by the Master of the 'Santorini Palace', that during the berthing manoever at the port of Heraklion, a damage had occurred to the starboad side engine. The ship safely docked at the port of Heraklion, where the 465 passengers were disembarked. The Central Port Authority of Heraklion banned the ship from sailing. After the damage was repaired and a certificate of seaworthiness was presented by the classification society that monitors it, the ship was allowed to sail.

Crew member injured in work accident

The Port Authority of Salamis was informed in the morning of May 3, 2023, that a crew member of the 'Santorini Palace', which was in a shipyard in the province of Salamina for maintenance work, was injured in the left upper limb. A preliminary investigation was carried out by the 3rd Port Department of Salamina of the Central Port Authority of Piraeus.

Engine trouble off Patroklos

In the morning of Sep 26, 2022, the Port Authorities of Piraeus, Saronic and Aegina were informed by the MRCC of the Greek Coast Guard that the 'Santorini Palace' had suffered a mechanical damage to the starboard sode main engine 4,5 nautical miles west of Patroklos in the Saronic Gulf, while executing a scheduled route from the port of Piraeus to the ports of Syros, Mykonos, Paros, Naxos, Thiras and Heraklion with 642 passengers and 31 crew members on board. The ferry safely returned to Piraeus at 1.45 p.m. The Central Port Authority of Piraeus banned the ship from sailing until the damage has repaired and a certificate of maintaining class - seaworthiness presented by the monitoring classification society. The passengers were forwarded to their destinations with care of the ship-owning company. The ship remained stationary in Piraeus as of Sep 27.
