Tanker towed to Lakonikos

After repairs of the 'Jag Lok' could not be carried out at Aliaga anchorage, the supply ship 'Leader Z' (IMO: 9451587) and the AHTS 'Foteini Z' (IMO: 9593232) have been appointed to tow the tanker to Lakonikos anchorage, Greece. Upon completion of towage approval formalities, the towage operation has commenced on Aug 19 with an ETA as of Aug 23. The ship was moored in pos. 36° 27.61' N 022° 40.66' E at 6 a.m.

Tanker suffered engine failure

En route from Aliağa to Ceyhan Port, the 'Jag Lok' suffered an engine failure at İzmir-Karaburun on Aug 4, 2022, and went adrift in pos. 38 47 0 N, 026 16 0 E, off Aliaga. As repairs could not be carried out by the crew, the tug 'Sirapinar XVIII' was deployed to assist and pulled the tanker to Aliağa anchorage, where it dropped anchor on Aug 6. The departure permission of the vessel was cancelled by Harbour Master. Class and H&M surveyors attended the vessel. As of Aug 8, the ship remained stationary at the Aliağa anchorage No. 3. in pos. 38° 51.92' N 026° 57.28' 026° 57.28' E at 8.30 a.m., while repairs were going on.
