Collision in Taiwan Strait

The "Guang Jun" and the "Ji Xin 9" were in collision on Nov 14, 2015, at 3 a.m. near Nanpeng island off Shantou in the Taiwan Strait. The "Ji Xin 9" struck her at portside and caused a breach in the foreship. The vessel started to take on water, developing a list to portside and was down by the bow. The 26 crew members abandoned vessel and went on board of the "Ji Xin 9" before being transferred on board of the Coast Guard salvage vessel "Coast Guard 0920" which had been dispatched by the Shantou MRCC. The operation was coordinated by the "South China Sea Rescue 113". Salvage team boarded the "Gunag Yun" and got the water ingress under control. She was en route from Zhoushan to Dong Guan.
