Kehrheim stood by sinking motor boat

On Aug 8, 2013, the "Kehrheim" assisted the sinking Motor boat "kroelle" which had suffered water Ingress Die SEENOTLEITUNG BREMEN setzte den Seenotkreuzer enroute from Orth upon Fehmarn to Marstal, Denmark. The crew of 2 had issued a Mayday at 10.30 a.m. 10 miles west of Fehmarn after smoke had emerged from one engine with the second failing shiprt time later. The s/y "Edeltrut" alarmed the MRCC in Bremen and took on board the two boaties. When the lifeboat "Berlin" arrived on Scene, only the bow of the "Kroelle" was sticking out of the water. The "Berlin" took the two on board and transported them to its station in Laboe. The "Kehrheim" headed for Burgstaaken.
