Grounding in the Kattegat

Fri Oct 09 20:36:06 CEST 2015 Timsen

On Oct 9, 2015, at 1 a.m. the "Dalmatia G" ran aground with a cargo of Phosphate approximately five nautical miles east of Anholt. The ship got stuck west of the navigation channel with a speed of just over 11 knots. The "LRB 21" from Anholt was immediately alerted and reached the site at 1.45 a.m. It monitored the situation until the anti Pollution vessel "Gunnar Thorson" arrived around noon and since remained on stand-by. There has been no leakage from the ship. Next the ship's hull has to inspected for damage. The Norwegian tug "BB Worker" (IMO: 9360051) has been dispatched to the grounding site and was actually standing by on Oct 10. The "Dalmatia G" was en route from Klaipeda to Paranagua.
