Medevac off Goa

Fri Jan 27 22:17:32 CET 2012 Timsen

In an early morning rescue operation on Jan 26, 2012, the Indian Coast Guard ship evacuated a sick Filipino crew member from the "Maersk Lebu" off Goa. The vessel was enroute Istanbul to Singapore when one of the crew members fell seriously ill and had to be evacuated immediately. The Maritime rescue sub-centre Goa directed the vessel to come closer to Mormugao while the Indian Coast Guard ship "C-148" proceeded to evacuate the man and take him to Vasco. The patient was medevaced from the ship and handed over to the local agent at Vasco for further treatment.
